| Here, all car mascot ornaments produced by French glasswork
designer René Lalique (1860-1945) are on display. At the start of his career,
Lalique was an active jewelry designer, but in 1912 he moved more into glasswork,
where his original creations were successful. |
 |
| 32 different pieces representing all 29 types are on
display; most of them are from the late 1920's. We believe this is the only
location in Japan, and in fact the entire world, where all such pieces are continuously
on display. One of the pieces, the CINQ CHEVAUX, is based on the Citroën 5CV.
This would make it the only one to be made with an actual car as a model. |
