| After economic expansion had reached a level
where people had enough material wealth to cover their basic needs, the second
oil shock hit, and Japan faced a period of low growth. Having experienced the
bubble economy and its subsequent burst, and now seeing values change with the
computerization of society, Japanese lifestyles are in for another radical change.
And now, as we head further into the 21st century, the demand for an environmentally
sound car has naturally grown even stronger. The next challenge is to make the
automobile friendlier to the environment, for the sake of future generations. |
