MUSEUM OUTLINE
The Toyota Automobile Museum was established to commemorate the history of the automobile and is dedicated to building a prosperous future for man and motorcar.
Since the saying "The 20th century is the age when man fell in love with cars", we have been deeply involved with the car and its advancement.
The automobile has significantly influenced not only our lifestyles, but also social structure.
In the main building of the museum, which was opened in April of 1989, about120 automobiles, mainly involving the history of practical cars from the end of the 19th century when the first gasoline powered car was born to the present, are on exhibit (European and American cars are on the 2nd floor, domestic cars are on the 3rd floor).
The annex building, which was opened in April of 1999 to commemorate the10th anniversary of the Toyota Automobile Museum, exhibits the history of motorization of Japan elaborating on the influence of the automobile on our lives and culture.
We sincerely hope that the cars on exhibit will strengthen every visitor's realization of the dreams which the future holds in store.
