But the thrill of power and performance remains the essence of the automobile. Car racing began with the arrival of cars, and motor sports and automobile development have been closely interlocked over the course of history. Advanced technologies resulting in higher efficiency and safety find their way first into motor sports before being introduced into commercial automobiles. This exhibition focuses on the history of Toyota motor sports featuring 10 vehicles that exemplify the fun of racing and the passion of the people involved in it with the first domestic car that participated in Rally Australia in 1957, grass-roots to top category cars seen in competitions in and outside of Japan.
