Universal Design means designing things so that everyone can use them! Toyota is incorporating Universal Design in its cars! Here are some cars that use the ideas of universal design. The SAI is equipped with a Remote Touch system that allows the driver to use the car navigation screen by operating a Remote Touch controller located conveniently at their fingertips, rather than touching the screen. Operation is smooth and carried out with the fingertips. This way the driver doesn’t have to look around or shift position to use the navigation screen, making driving safer and more comfortable.   Display-related things are kept in the display zone, and operation-related things are kept in the operation zone. This helps reduce unnecessary eye and body movement.   Whenever a switch on the steering wheel is used (such as for the audio system, air conditioning, and so on) it is automatically shown on the central instrument panel. The driver doesn't have to look directly at the switch, so it is easier and safer. Even though four people can ride in the car, it is less than three meters long and has a minimum turning radius of 3.9 meters, the smallest in the world (for four-wheeled cars). Since maneuverability is good, it is easy to park and drives easily through narrow streets.
