Inventor Sakichi Toyoda invented the Toyoda automatic loom, a type of loom that works automatically without human operators. His son, Kiichiro Toyoda, devoted his life to making cars, an area that was still quite unknown in Japan at that time. After many difficulties, the Model A1 Prototype was finally completed in 1935. This marks the start of Toyota Motor's history. Toyota launched the Model AA in 1936, and in 1937 constructed a large factory in Koromo-cho (now Toyota City) in Aichi Prefecture, to begin full-scale car production. |
