Present and future of safety technology development at Toyota
  Toyota's Zero Accidents Vision  
     
With an aim toward realizing zero traffic injury and fatality, Toyota announced on June 3, 2004 a renewed effort to enhance safety equipment and safety technologies on vehicles throughout its domestic-market lineup and to explore completely new safety technologies. It also gave an overview of a driver’s safety training facility Toyota plans to open next spring as part of its activities to increase public awareness of traffic safety.
Introduced are explanations and presentations made to the media about this effort.

The thinking and direction behind what Toyota is doing to achieve zero traffic accidents are explained. The presentation also points out the necessity of comprehensive approaches in which three elements (vehicle, man and traffic environment) are addressed as one interrelated whole.

Past, present and future vehicle-centered safety technologies—all in pursuit of zero injuries, zero fatalities and zero accidents—and their established or expected effects are detailed.
