That includes people who plan what cars we should sell in the future, people who work in designing cars, building prototypes, and testing cars, people who work on things to do with our overseas operations, people who make cars in factories and people doing all sorts of other work.
In addition to Japan, Toyota has plants in 28 other countries and regions.
Toyota also has research facilities in major countries and regions around the world where it conducts research and development.
About 340,000 people work for Toyota in production, sales and parts companies around the world.
